Welcome to the site of the Rockdale Future HeRos and Phoenix Independent.
Rockdale Future Heros is a county level combined middle school guard. We are also the current SAPA Cadet Bronze medalist for 2016. We teach middle school children the fundamentals of Color Guard/Winter Guard to include Flag work, Rifle work, and Saber work. Additionally, we teach our squad the value of teamwork, dedication, responsibility, and good sportsmanship. To become a member of this squad, you must attend one of the four Rockdale County middle schools, be a rising 6th, 7th or 8th grade student, have a current, completed physical packet, and be in good academic standing (No failing academic classes for the prior semester) at your school.

PHOENIX INDEPENDENT, an Independent Color Guard comprised of advanced guard members from around Georgia. We are a new guard and the big sisters to Rockdale Future Heros. We are the current silver medalists for Independent Regional A. For more information about Phoenix, click on the link (Left side of page) that connects you to Phoenix Independent. We are planning on having at least one summer workshop. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

FALL GUARD is our Fall Guard. We perform for a selected number of HOME Football games for each of the local Middle Schools. Each component of our Color Guard also is taught a routine to perform at their home school Pep Rallies (If there are enough girls from that school). Color Guard and Winter Guard involves dance, flags, sabers, and rifle drill. In Color Guard the performance is outside on the football field and in Winter Guard it is inside on a tarp a little bit smaller than a basketball court. In both cases it is an awesome site and takes a lot of hard work and conditioning but the end result makes it worthwhile. Make sure you are up to the challenge and ready to commit to the intense schedule required before trying out

MANDATORY MEETING: There will be a mandatory parent/booster meeting on the Thursday of Try Outs from 6:30PM - 7:00PM. Each child who makes the squad MUST have a representative (parent or guardian) to be allowed on the squad.

WINTER GUARD is a competitive guard. To try out for Winter guard, we prefer that you have prior guard experience either from the County Fall Guard or an equivalent guard. Occasionally we will make an exception if a student shows real potential. These novice guard members are provisional. They learn with the existing guard and if they get to a performance level, they are permitted to perform with the rest of the squad. Being a current member of the Fall guard does not guarantee you a slot on the competitive guard although it improves your chances.Color Guard and Winter Guard involves dance, flags, sabers, and rifle drill.
