Welcome to the site of the Rockdale Future HeRos.
We are a county level combined middle school guard. We are also the current SAPA Cadet Gold Medalist for 2012. We teach middle school children the fundamentals of Color Guard/Winter Guard to include Flag work, Rifle work, and Saber work. Additionally, we teach our squad the value of teamwork, dedication, responsibilty, and good sportsmanship. To become a member of this squad, you must attend one of the four Rockdale County middle schools, be a rising 7th or 8th grade student, have a current, completed physical packet, and be in good academic at your school.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
YOU WILL FIND ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR FALL AND WINTER GUARD UNDER THE RFH DOCUMENTS tab at left.
(Physical packet, Budget, By Laws, Contract, Candidate Sheet for both Fall and Winter Guard[Which contains contact information for prospective guard memebers], Budget, etc). If you can't find something that you are looking for, use the wiki search. Most relevant items are tagged for ease using the search feature.

YOU MUST HAVE A COMPLETED PHYSICAL PACKET WITH A CURRENT PHYSICAL TO PARTICIPATE IN GUARD. A PHYSICAL IS GOOD FOR ONE YEAR.

FALL GUARD is our Fall Guard. We perform for a selected number of HOME Football games for each of the local Middle Schools. Each component of our Color Guard also is taught a routine to perform at their home school Pep Rallies. Color Guard and Winter Guard involves dance, flags, sabers, and rifle drill. In Color Guard the performance is outside on the football field and in Winter Guard it is inside on a tarp a little bit smaller than a basketball court. In both cases it is an awesome site and takes a lot of hard work and conditioning but the end result makes it worthwhile. Make sure you are up to the challenge and ready to commit to the intense schedule required before trying out
MANDATORY MEETING: There will be a mandatory parent/booster meeting on the Friday before Try-Outs for both guards from 8PM - 9PM. Each child who makes the squad MUST have a representative (parent or guardian) to be allowed on the squad.

WINTER GUARD is a competative guard. To try out for Winter guard, you must have prior guard experience either from the County Fall Guard or an equivelant guard. Occassionally we will make an exception if a student shows real potential. These novice guard members are provisional. They learn with the existing guard and if they get to a performance level, they are permitted to perform with the rest of the squad.
